State-Level English Student Conference at St. Claret College
Bangalore: “Shakespeare does not belong to any
specific age; he is relevant for all times. His thoughts, views and
philosophical ideologies transcend time and are relevant even today”, opined Bangalore
University Associate Professor Shree Keerthi while inaugurating the sixth
edition of the State-Level Conference for the students of BA (Optional English)
and MA (English) on ‘Revisiting Shakespeare: Beyond Literary Criticism and
Literary Theory’ at St. Claret College.
Rev. Dr. Sabu George, the Principal, said that the
purpose of the Conference is to provide a platform for the student community to
think critically and asked them to use it to their best. Altogether, 56 Paper
Presentations were made by 60 delegates from 18 colleges across the state.
Rev.Fr. Vineeth George, Vice-Principal, Mr. Triyoginath
Pandey, the HoD of Humanities, Mr Allan Fernandez, the Conference Convenor and
Assistant Professors Arun Kumar, Joan Divya, Gilli Jayaprakashan and Nice
Aravind were present on the occasion.
